Ingredients :
2 (6oz) Ahi Tuna Steaks ( I bought the frozen Ahi Tuna from Costco );
1 Tbsp soy sauce; 1 Tbsp oyster sauce; 1/2 Tbsp honey;
1/2 Tbsp mirin (or cooking wine); 1 Tbsp sesame oil;
1/4 cup sesame seeds
Directions :
In a small bowl stir together the soy sauce, oyster sauce, honey, mirin and sesame oil.
Spread the sesame seeds out on a plate. Dip the tuna steak into the soy sauce mixture,
then press into the sesame seeds to coat. Heat a stainless steel pan over medium heat
for 2 minutes, add about 1 Tbsp oil. When the oil is hot, place the tuna steaks in the pan
and sear for about 1 minute on each side, depending on how rare you want the tuna to be.
Make sure to use medium heat or else the sesame seeds will burn.
Remove and serve.
I sliced the tuna steaks and arranged on stir fried bok choy and mushroom, and serve
together with rice.
I also made a dipping sauce of wasabi paste and soy sauce to go with the seared tuna.
