Ingredients:
1 cup all purpose flour; 1/2 tsp baking powder; 1/8 tsp baking soda; 1/8 tsp salt;
1/2 cup chopped toasted walnuts; 1/3 cup unsalted butter; 3/4 cup brown sugar;
1 egg, beaten; 1 tsp vanilla; shaved or chopped chocolate to decorate the top
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350F. Sift flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt together,
add the chopped walnuts. Melt the butter in the microwave oven, add the brown
sugar, stir till the sugar is melted. Let it cool down before adding the egg and
vanilla, mix well. Add the flour and walnut mixture, mix just until well blended.
Spread the batter onto a lined 8"X8" baking pan, sprinkle the chocolate pieces
evenly on top. Bake 20 - 25 mins, cool completely before cutting.
